How I Work

How I work

You should know what working together looks like before you commit to anything. Here is the whole path, from the first conversation to a business that runs without you in the middle.

The process

  1. 1

    Find it.

The real problem, not the one you're feeling. I start by understanding your business from the inside: how decisions get made, where work stalls, and what is actually in the way. Symptoms show up in one place and usually start somewhere else.

  2. 2

    Align it.

The right people, the right seats, and a reason they can carry. This is the step most people skip. A better process handed to a team that isn't aligned around it doesn't hold.

  3. 3

    Hand it off.

I build repeatable processes with you, then hand them to a team that can run them without you. I sit in the rooms where the real work happens, and I stay until what gets built runs without me.

Where it starts

The Perspective Session

A Perspective Session is a short, no-pitch conversation. You get a real read on where the business is stuck and what to do about it, whether or not we work together.

Free, 30 minutes.

The first paid step

The Alignment Assessment

If it makes sense to keep going, the first paid step is the Alignment Assessment. I spend a month inside your business. I interview the people actually running the operation, observe how work really moves, and evaluate the systems and processes underneath it.

What you receive: a written report with a clear executive summary and the specific themes limiting your growth, typically four to six, unique to your business. For each one: the core problem, what I recommend, and what changes if you act on it. It closes with a phased path forward, a concrete recommendation for where to start and what follows.

The report is yours. Bring it back to your own team or hand it to another firm entirely. It's a real deliverable, not a sales pitch dressed up as a diagnostic.

The Assessment is priced well below my standard engagement rate, deliberately. It's how I put real skin in the game before asking you to commit to anything larger.

How engagements work

Most engagements run six to twelve months, usually a focused first phase followed by a longer implementation phase. The Assessment determines the right scope and timeline for your business specifically.

The work is embedded and hands-on. I don't show up with a framework and a slide deck, and I don't hand off a report and leave. You're never locked in after the Assessment.

When the work calls for it, I use tools such as AI enablement or workplace collaboration training, in service of the process. See the tools I use →

A current example

AI enablement

AI rollouts stall for the same reason other operational changes do. The method is the same.

  • Find it. Where AI is already used, by whom, and with what information.
  • Align it. A short standard leadership agrees on, so people know where AI leads and where they stay in command.
  • Hand it off. Practitioners on your team trained to run it without me.

FAQ

What happens when I book a Perspective Session?
It's a free, 30-minute conversation, no pressure and no pitch. You and I talk through where the business actually is and what to do about it. Nothing is assumed or sold on that call.
What does the Alignment Assessment actually involve?
A month embedded in your business: interviews with the people running the operation, direct observation of how work moves, and a full evaluation of your systems and processes.
Do I have to commit to a longer engagement after the Assessment?
No. The report and recommendation are yours regardless. Most clients choose to continue because the report makes the case for itself, but you're never locked in.
How long does a full engagement usually last?
Most run six to twelve months, typically a focused first phase followed by a longer implementation phase. The Assessment determines the right scope and timeline for your business specifically.
How is this different from a typical management consultant?
I don't hand off a report and leave. I stay embedded in the work until the systems hold and the team can run without me.
